Trump: 15-yard penalties after tackles/hits are “ruining the game.”

What penalties is he referring to? Taunting? No. Excessive celebration? No. Unnecessary roughness? Yes.

So penalties that flag players for unnecessary roughness — flags that are overwhelmingly due to illegal hits to the head and neck area in today's NFL — in Trump’s mind are ruining the game.

Why has the NFL made those calls a point of emphasis? Because they are especially dangerous and are more likely to lead to brain injuries — read: concussions.

These are normal and logical conclusions to be made from Trump’s rhetoric.
