This is the most under-recognized aspect of how the electorate voted: the people who supported Trump in the Rust Belt (and put him over the top of 270) will get nothing from his presidency. He promised jobs and revitalization that won’t happen for many reasons.

The irony of that region voting for a Republican on the line that the federal government will bail them out will never cease being incredible.
