Day 996: Trump sets the world on fire, then goes to play golf
In less than a week, Donald Trump has made the world a significantly more dangerous place, not that he cares.
He stabbed the Kurds, longtime American allies, right in the back by moving American troops in Syria away from the northern border. That all-but guaranteed a Turkish invasion into Kurdish areas and the freeing of ISIS prisoners. That’s already started to happen.
Trump has deluded himself into believing that his decision means less bloodshed, when it means more both in the short-term and long-term.
Domestically, his poll numbers continue to tank as he blames everyone while claiming that he’s wildly popular. Meanwhile, the Ukraine scandal continues to grow and Trump tries to cover it up, stomping on many norms, principles and laws in the process.
In response to all of this, Trump went to his safe space: his golf course.
Trump has now played on 23.7% of his days in office and been at one of his own properties on 31.0% of his days in office.
Trump set the world on fire and the only water he cares about is the pond guarding the green on the 8th hole.
