Day 993: Trump doesn’t care about Kurdish allies because ‘they didn’t help us at Normandy’

Donald Trump has zero empathy. His lack of critical thinking is actually astounding. Those two things came together Wednesday.

Trump announced a stunningly cowardly plan earlier in the week. Trump announced the U.S. would pull American troops out of northern Syria, all but opening the door for Turkey to slaughter the Kurds, who have been longtime American allies. Right on cue, Turkey is ramping up aggression with Kurds directly in their crosshairs. Moreover, ISIS fighters could be out of prisons and back on the battlefields within weeks.

One of his excuses for stabbing the Kurds in the back is especially strange. Trump stated that the Kurds “didn’t help us at Normandy,” which was 75 years ago.

Trump remains a deeply ignorant and cruel man who continues to make the world a more dangerous place on a daily basis.
