Day 99: Donald Trump Admits Boundless Ignorance

If only Donald Trump could keep his mouth shut, perhaps fewer people would realize the depths of his ignorance.

And yet…

na·tion·al·ist /naSH(ə)nələst/noun / a person who advocates political independence for a country.

glob·al·ist /ˈɡlōbəlist / noun / a person who advocates the interpretation or planning of economic and foreign policy in relation to events and developments throughout the world.

Remember, Trump is someone who once said, “I know words, I have the best words.”

Calling oneself a nationalist and a globalist is like calling oneself a steak-eating vegetarian, a very short tall person or a war-mongering pacifist.

Nationalists have been described by many as being neo-Nazis. Globalist is often used as a dog-whistling term for Jews.

Somehow, Trump claims to be both.

Trump managed to roll millions of eyes again.

He is apparently surprised at how much work a 320 million person, multi-layered democracy with many competing goals is compared to a 20,000 person dictatorship.

A legitimately mind-boggling admission.

Things Trump referred to as very easy during the run-up to or during his presidency: health care, ISIS, immigration, a nuclear North Korea, growing the economy, a tax plan and many, many more.

Now it seems, humbled after a remarkably feckless first 100 days, Trump had no choice but to backtrack on words that everyone but him and his most ardent supporters knew. He is nostalgic for his easier, more enjoyable life, instead of being stuck in a position he never thought he’d win (and probably never even wanted to win).

Somehow, though, Trump sounds even sillier admitting his naivete than he did with his initial, haughty claims.
