Day 977: Trump whines about not being given Nobel Prize for nothing
Donald Trump, born with a silver spoon in his mouth, is used to being given things: money, military deferments, bankruptcy discharges, international election assistance and more.
Now, he’s confused why he’s not being given a Nobel Prize.
President Donald Trump on Monday revived his beef with the selection committee that awards the Nobel Peace Prize, claiming that the process is rigged against him.
Speaking to reporters before a bilateral meeting with Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan, Trump asserted that “I would get a Nobel Prize for a lot of things, if they give it out fairly, which they don’t.”
While Trump says he’s been nominated twice, both were forged.
Although Trump has been nominated twice for the award, the Norwegian Nobel Committee said the nominations were forged.
Earlier this year, the president claimed that Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe nominated him for the Nobel, but those reports were never confirmed by Japanese officials.
Regarding his comment that he should get a Nobel for “a lot of things,” Trump seems to think he has plenty of options for the six prizes.
- Maybe he thinks he deserves one for peace for splitting up families at the U.S.-Mexico border and putting young children in prison camps with deplorable conditions.
- Maybe he thinks he deserves one for economics for a series of disastrous tariffs and trade wars which have caused worldwide market fluctuations.
- Maybe he thinks he deserves one for literature for tweets like this.
- Maybe he thinks he deserves one for medicine.
- Maybe he thinks he deserves one for innovations in the field of chemistry.
- Maybe he thinks he deserves one for physics for ordering a border wall that can’t be climbed without a rope or ladder.
Trump doesn’t seem too picky on this subject. He’s been given nearly everything in life and wants one of those Nobel thingies for his mantle now.
