Day 975: Over the past six months, Trump has missed a golf weekend just twice

Both misses were for international obligations and were not voluntary.

Donald Trump visited his Virginia golf club yet again Saturday.

He has played nearly once every four days since his inauguration. If it seems that Trump has ramped up his play of late, that’s not just perception unsupported by fact.

Over the past six months, Trump has missed playing over a weekend just two times. Many times he has played multiple days, and his play has dipped into weekdays as well. Since March 21, six months ago to the day, the only weekends Trump has missed have been:

  • June 29–30
  • August 24–25

Of those two missed weekends, the former was the G20 summit. (And Trump played four straight days from the Thursday through Sunday after returning.) As for the latter, Trump was out of the country at the G7 summit.

That’s it.

Trump has visited one of his golf courses literally every weekend for six months, except for the two dates he couldn’t avoid no matter what. Included in that half-year span is playing instead of preparing for a monster hurricane and playing instead of formulating a timely response to another mass shooting.

975 days in, 487 to go
