Day 960: Trump did, maybe, 8 hours of work this week

Donald Trump’s schedule was remarkably empty this week, even by his own standards. Maybe he was tired from playing a bunch of golf last weekend, maybe he was stressed about falsifying weather reports, or, most likely, maybe he’s just lazy beyond belief.

While the presidency is a 24/7/365 job, giving Trump the benefit of the doubt of a relaxed Labor Day — even in the aftermath of another mass shooting and with a monster hurricane bearing down on the East Coast — the remaining four days were a world class example of apathy toward productivity.

  • Tuesday: intelligence briefing, meeting with Secretary of Defense
  • Wednesday: hurricane update, lunch with Secretary of State, grant announcement
  • Thursday: intelligence briefing, meeting with General Motors CEO, medal of freedom presentation
  • Friday: nothing

At best, the sum of the four days equals less than a single day’s worth of work for a job that never stops.

“I promise you that I will work so hard,” Trump swore the day before his inauguration.
