Day 912: Trump’s golf trips are already enough to pay for every homeless vet’s meals for a year

Donald Trump played golf yet again Saturday, his 207th trip to one of his own golf clubs since his inauguration.

The cost to U.S. taxpayers for Trump to tear up the links and schmooze with members is around $109.2 million. A good chunk of that money ends up back in his pocket by way of room and vehicle rentals, food, drink and more, to say nothing about the free exposure his clubs get to attract new members.

Meanwhile, the U.S. currently has about 40,000 homeless veterans. The cost to feed the homeless is about $2.94 per meal, meaning every homeless veteran in the U.S. could eat more than two and a half meals every day for a year for the $109.2 million cost of Trump’s golf trips.

Trump is expected to play again Sunday as he remains at his Bedminster, New Jersey club.
