Day 901: Trump laments calls to boycott Home Depot. Here’s a long list of entities Trump has encouraged people to boycott.
Some people on social media have urged people to boycott Home Depot because their nonagenarian co-founder supports Donald Trump.
In an interview with the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Bernie Marcus said that he intends to support Trump’s re-election campaign, saying that while the president “sucks” at communication, his impact on employment and aggressive stances toward China and Iran have been positive.
Marcus retired from the company in 2002 and Home Depot has distanced themselves from any political commentary.
Nonetheless, the social media users clearly caught Trump’s attention and he tweeted about them.
Trump’s final tweet implies that he doesn’t believe in boycotting establishments over such issues. Yet, hypocritically, Trump’s history is absolutely loaded with him calling for boycotts of a wide range of private entities, including television networks, department stores, technology behemoths and motorcycle manufacturers.
He’s even called for boycotting numerous countries.
When Trump decries boycotts, all it takes is a cursory look into his past to realize he enjoys calling for them more than almost anyone.
