Day 880: Trump’s reelection bid starts with white supremacists, empty seats and no new plans
As if he hasn’t treated the past two and a half years like a reelection tour, Donald Trump was in Orlando, Florida Tuesday to kick off his bid for another term in 2020.
White supremacists marched in support of him.
When he finally spoke, his speech pretended it was 2016 all over again.
Trying to look ahead, his words were flush with lies and generalities with no actual substance.
And while Trump claimed interest in the event exceeded 100,000 people, it turned out that even filling the 20,000-person Amway Center was tough. The outside overflow space allotted for tens of thousands of people was rendered completely unnecessary.
