Day 869: Houston, we have a flip flop: Trump can’t remember which NASA missions he wants to prioritize
Donald Trump has tried to reinvigorate the space race since the beginning of his term. The problem is, like most things he does, he can’t keep track of his actual policy desires. So he’ll say one thing and then immediately cut the legs out from under what he just said by saying the exact opposite.
Just try and follow Trump’s desired policy on missions to Mars and the moon.
Trump doesn’t want to focus on the moon, but rather on “Mars (of which the Moon is a part).” What does that mean? Even those that speak fluent Trump can’t parse what Trump is getting at beyond the fact that he thinks going to Mars is more of a priority than the moon.
And yet, less than a month ago, Trump was excited about going “to the Moon, then Mars.”
By month’s end, who knows what Trump will want to do.
