Day 863: Trump keeps claiming tariffs are pushing companies to move back to the US, but he never names any. It’s obvious why.

Donald Trump’s false claims know no bounds, as he has literally lied over 10,000 times since his inauguration. But one of his latest talking points is as thin as the hair on his head. He has been saying that companies have or will be returning to the U.S. as a result of tariffs and trade wars initiated by him.

The thing is, when Trump can stretch an inkling of truth by showing examples, he will.

And yet, Trump has never named a company that has come back as a result of his tariffs. Even his tweets undermine his own argument when he says China will “subsidize goods” to help shield the country from tariffs. Additionally, added costs of goods from tariffs are ultimately passed down to buyers.

So while Trump alleges companies have come back or will come back, there’s simply no evidence for any of it.
