Day 851: Trump took Monday off to prepare himself to deliver the same speech he’s given 100s of times

Donald Trump hates working, but especially on Mondays, when his schedule is notoriously empty. That was true again this Monday, when the only thing on his schedule was a short intelligence briefing.

Maybe he wanted a light schedule to prepare for a MAGA rally in Montoursville, Pennsylvania or to sit on his phone and tweet.

At the rally, Trump gave basically the exact same one-hour rambling speech that he’s been giving for years.

Lying about Democratic policy positions in absurd fashion? Check.

Hawking merch? Check.

Stumping against Hillary Clinton? Check.

Using the same lines lambasting the press? Check.

Inciting a “lock them up” chant with slander? Check.

Attacking Democratic opponents for the bizarrest of things? Check.

Trump wasted a day of potential meetings, studying policy or any actual work so he could watch TV, tweet nonsense and relax before a rally speech that could have had virtually the exact same content as when he was campaigning against Clinton and he’s likely to give again in the next week or two.
