Day 790: Trump laments not getting credit for McCain funeral

Donald Trump’s weird obsession with John McCain continues, nearly seven months after McCain died from brain cancer. Trump has been criticizing McCain nonstop for days, apparently still angered by McCain choosing to vote against the Trump-backed bill to repeal the Affordable Care Act and replace it with nothing.

At a tank factory in Ohio on Wednesday, Trump went completely off script in lengthy diatribe against McCain.

Among the strangest attacks were Trump’s false claim that he passed the Veterans Choice bill. In actuality, McCain pushed for it and Barack Obama signed into law years before Trump sniffed the White House.

Trump desire for credit knows no bounds and he actually wanted credit for McCain’s funeral: “I gave him the kind of funeral that he wanted.” He noted that he had to approve the plans before lamenting not being thanked. Then he callously added, “That’s okay. We sent him on the way.”

Trump blamed the press for bringing up McCain, but the only reason he keeps getting mentioned is because Trump can’t stop talking about the war hero. On Twitter. Next to Brazil’s president. And, apparently, impromptuly in front of Ohio workers.
