Day 762: Major domestic terror attack by white Coast Guard member foiled, White House silent
A Coast Guard lieutenant planned a major domestic terror attack, according to charging documents. The plot targeted Democrats and media members from CNN and MSNBC. The plan was foiled due to hard work by federal agents, leading to an arrest Wednesday.
The terrorist’s hit list included:
[P]rominent Democrats includ[ing] House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and presidential hopefuls Sens. Kirsten Gillibrand, Elizabeth Warren, Cory Booker and Kamala Harris.
The list — created in a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet — also included mentions of John Podesta, who was Hillary Clinton’s campaign chairman, along with Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Maxine Waters, former Rep. Beto O’Rourke, MSNBC’s Chris Hayes and Joe Scarborough and CNN’s Chris Cuomo and Van Jones, according to the court filing.
The language the terrorist used in creating his list overlaps with many individuals frequently lambasted by Donald Trump, including the way they were listed. For instance, Warren was listed as “poca warren.”
The White House has yet to say a word about the arrest, focusing on propagandist bogeymen instead.
Trump, Sarah Sanders and the rest of the White House are unlikely to have remained silent for even 15 minutes if the terrorist wasn’t white or crossed the border illegally or targeted Republicans. Instead, the terrorist is a homegrown white member of the U.S. military who was targeting Democrats and the media, the latter of whom Trump referred to as “the enemy of the people” as recently as Wednesday morning.
When events cut against a Trump narrative, the White House cowardly remains silent, even when innocent lives are at stake.
