Day 690: Trump almost spelled a third grade-level word correctly (twice)

Donald Trump has difficultly reading and writing. He frequently stumbles when reciting a prewritten speech loaded onto a teleprompter. He also struggles with basic spelling and vocabulary, often to an embarrassing level. (The latter extends to both written and spoken form.)

He may have hit rock bottom on Monday.

Smoking: the word is spelled s-m-o-k-i-n-g. There’s no “c” to be found, as most elementary school students could tell Trump. Apparently even Trump’s phone has given up trying to autocorrect his misspellings. This was no typo either, as he managed to make the error twice in a span of 14 words.

So close both times, though.
