Day 642: Trump can’t remember his National Security Advisor’s name

The position of National Security Advisor under Donald Trump, like many s senior roles in the Trump administration, has seen quite a bit of turmoil.

First, Trump tapped Michael Flynn to the position, only to see Flynn forced to resign less than a month into the job. (Flynn has since pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI and is cooperating with Robert Mueller’s investigation.)

After Flynn, H.R. McMaster held the position for 14 months before resigning himself after butting heads with Trump and various staff members for most of his tenure.

Since April of this year, John Bolton has held the position.

Just don’t ask Trump to name him.

Trump routinely struggles with remembering things, whether it’s the name of a retiring Supreme Court justice…

…or national songs, including the national anthem.

Still, considering Bolton’s been on the job for six months, and Trump is sending him around the world for important diplomatic tasks, perhaps it would be good if Trump could remember his name.
