Day 625: Angry, Pissed? Volunteer, Vote!
Brett Kavanaugh’s absurd confirmation process concluded today, with the Senate pushing his nomination through almost entirely on party lines, despite the fact that Kavanaugh has been credibly accused of sexual assault, lied multiple times under oath, millions of pages of documents were hidden from the Senate during the process and the FBI conducted a sham of a background investigation at the behest of the White House.
Are you angry? Hate Donald Trump’s policies? Tired of being in the minority? Scared for the future?
Since there’s no going back, there’s one option: VOTE.
The midterm elections are in exactly one month. Don’t assume a huge blue wave for Democrats or that others will do their part so you’re unimportant. Don’t allow yourself to believe that staying on Twitter and venting are enough.
If the Democrats win the House, Trump’s legislative agenda is effectively over. If they win the Senate, Trump’s legislative and judicial agendas are effectively over. Win both and the pressure is suddenly ratcheted up on Trump in profound ways.
Turn frustration and pain into productive action.
“Adopt” a candidate or four. Phone bank. Knock on doors. Throw a couple bucks into a race if you can. Make sure your friends and family know their polling location and confirm that they’ll be making their voice heard.
It’s not too late to get involved.
Most importantly: vote. Vote in local elections, state elections and national elections.
