Day 499: Trump touts Kim Jong-un letter….that he hadn’t yet read

Donald Trump and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo met North Korea’s envoy in the Oval Office Friday. By the end of the meeting, the North Koreans had given up nothing, and yet the June 12th summit in Singapore was back on, delivering the reclusive nation a huge victory.

Trump, speaking to reporters afterwards, touted the meeting, including a “very nice letter” he received from Kim Jong-un.

Just one problem: Trump hadn’t actually read the letter yet.

In sum: Trump, yet again, agreed to a summit without getting anything in return; touted receiving a letter from Kim; purposely hadn’t read the letter before speaking to reporters; admitted that the letter could be anything; thinks the summit is going to be great.
