Day 497: If only there was a way to rebut Trump’s newest claim that Comey’s firing was unrelated to Russia probe

The ever-evolving story of “no collusion” and “Russia witch hunt” took a new turn Thursday morning. Sure, Trump continued to rant about it less than 48 hours after swearing off the subject to finally get to work. But he offered a comment for why he fired James Comey from his position as director of the FBI.

Trump claims that Comey wasn’t fired due to the Russia investigation. It’s the damn media’s fault.

If only there was some way to take Trump’s May 2018 statements and compare it to what he said at the time of Comey’s firing in May 2017.

Oh.

Yeah, Trump may learn that it’s a lot easier to talk yourself into an obstruction of justice charge than using self-serving statement to try and get yourself out of it.
