Day -43: New EPA Head Hates the EPA
Donald Trump just nominated Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt to be the next head of the Environmental Protection Agency.
The same Scott Pruitt currently suing the EPA.
The same Scott Pruitt, a lawyer, who said despite virtually every scientist disagreeing, “Reasonable minds can disagree about the science behind global warming.”
The same Scott Pruitt who had a letter alleging that the EPA lied about air pollution numbers ghostwritten by attorneys for one of Oklahoma’s largest oil and gas companies.
The same Scott Pruitt who has fossil fuel companies, their lawyers and lobbyists celebrating.
The same Scott Pruitt, as Sen. Markey (D-MA) stated, who “would have EPA stand for Every Polluter’s Ally.”
The same Scott Pruitt who has the following on his LinkedIn profile:
“Scott…is a leading advocate against the EPA’s activist agenda….”
Donald Trump, a man who believes that climate change is a hoax perpetrated by the Chinese, just nominated a man who, in his own words, leads the charge against the EPA.
Trump met with former VP Al Gore to discuss climate change just a few days ago, a meeting that both men claim went to have went well. Whatever Gore said, however, must have gone in one Trump ear and out the other, because the man Trump tapped to lead the EPA has waged war on them for years and denies the science behind climate change.
He has been controlled by lobbyists for years and will continue to be.
Drain the swamp? Scott Pruitt already controlled one of the swamp’s biggest lillypads in Oklahoma. Now he’ll have one of the biggest ones in Washington D.C. as the head of the EPA. We will now have at least four years of environmental policies in this country that are more concerned about continuing to line the pockets of a select few companies over the welfare of the nation and world.
The environment is screwed. We are screwed. Our children are screwed.
