Day 379: Days After Trump Brags About Black Unemployment Being Down, It Spikes Dramatically

Donald Trump loves to brag about numbers. He’s been especially focused on touting record-low unemployment levels for black Americans for weeks, which eventually led to a feud with rapper and businessman Jay-Z over the idea of success and happiness.

Trump most recently peddled the numbers at his State of the Union address on Tuesday evening.

Less than 72 hours later, he learned life comes at you fast.

December’s 6.8% unemployment rate for black Americans soared to 7.7% in just a month’s time, marking one of the most dramatic month-to-month spikes in years.

All this in the wake of a tax bill that was supposed to trickle down to create more jobs across the board.
