Day 373: When Will the GOP Return Steve Wynn’s Millions, If Ever?

Just a few months ago, the GOP routinely criticized Democrats for keeping money from donor Harvey Weinstein in the wake of him being exposed as a serial predator.

After flinging stones, it appears that the Republican Party lives in a glassier house, as their mega donor and the Republican National Committee Finance Chairman, Steve Wynn, has been shown to be a decades-long serial predator as well.

Many GOP politicians, including Sen. Dean Heller (R-NV), are beholden to Wynn and his deep pockets. Over decades, he has donated millions of dollars to individual members and the national party.

Meanwhile, Wynn has numerous connections to Donald Trump as well.

Wynn joined the RNC as its top fundraiser after Trump was elected president, and the magnate donated $729,217 to Trump’s inauguration through his company, Wynn Resorts. A former business rival, Trump called Wynn “a great friend” in 2016.

More than 24 hours after The Wall Street Journal’s original story, the RNC and their chairwoman have gone completely silent.
