Day 359: Trump’s Stormy Sexual History Not Exactly a Shock

The report that he allegedly paid a former porn star $130,000 to keep quiet shouldn’t surprise anyone.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Donald Trump bought the silence of former pornographic actress Stephanie Clifford — who went by the name Stormy Daniels — for $130,000 to prevent her from discussing their relationship.

A lawyer for President Donald Trump arranged a $130,000 payment to a former adult-film star a month before the 2016 election as part of an agreement that precluded her from publicly discussing an alleged sexual encounter with Mr. Trump, according to people familiar with the matter.

Michael Cohen, who spent nearly a decade as a top attorney at the Trump Organization, arranged payment to the woman, Stephanie Clifford, in October 2016 after her lawyer negotiated the nondisclosure agreement with Mr. Cohen, these people said.

Much like the additional revelations that Trump is a racist were not surprising, Trump buying the silence of an extramarital affair does not exactly shock anyone’s conscience.

This is a man who has openly bragged about his sexual conquests and his desire to bed his friends’ wives. He has had numerous extramarital affairs, including cheating on his fist wife with the woman who would become his second wife and encouraging the tabloids to keep the gossip in the paper.

In addition to the affairs, Trump has been accused of sexual misconduct by nearly two dozen women. He has been accused by four women of walking into the Miss Teen USA dressing room while 15 and 16 year old girls were completely naked and made no attempt to leave. There are dozens and dozens more rumors about his dalliances across the world, including those contained in the infamous Steele dossier.

In Michael Wolff’s new tell-all from behind the scenes of the Trump team, Steve Bannon doesn’t hide the lengths Trump’s team went to to hide the various women who came forward.

“Look, Kasowitz has known [Trump] for twenty-five years. Kasowitz has gotten him out of all kinds of jams,” Bannon reportedly said. “Kasowitz on the campaign — what did we have, a hundred women? Kasowitz took care of all of them.”

Again, none of this is eye-opening considering Trump’s own previous statements and actions.

It’s also not even remotely surprising that the party that loves to farcically tout “family values” continues to stand behind him and defend him.
