Day 348: Trump: You’re Welcome For No Plane Crashes in 2017

In a string of truly bizarre tweets Tuesday morning, Donald Trump seemed to send out everything that has been on his mind for the past weeks, from North Korea to The New York Times’ new publisher to DACA.

Some were incoherent, like this one about Huma Abedin.

Others were simply ludicrous.

Trump claims he has been “very strict on Commercial Aviation [sic],” whatever that means. 2017 merely followed a trend for American aviation, as it was the eighth straight year that nobody died in a commercial crash from a U.S.-certified airline.

The biggest reasons for increasingly safe air travel are adjustments and new regulations after previous incidents and ever-increasing technology.

Trump’s role in all of this? Absolutely nothing.
