Donald Trump loves tweeting self-serving non-sense. The claims are often easily debunked with a shred of information.
THE CLAIM:
THE TRUTH:
Climate does not mean weather. Trump has made this mistake basically every time the weather gets frosty wherever he is. Weather is atmospheric changes in a relatively short amount of time, subject to variations and anomalies, while climate has a wide view with large-scale trends.
The Washington Post’s weather team actually pre-fact-checked Trump.
THE CLAIM:
THE TRUTH:
Fox News cherry-picked the single most favorable approval rating — from conservative Rasmussen Reports polling company — to compare to Barack Obama. Most approval ratings continue to show Trump in the mid 30s, while Obama was consistently polling in the low 50s at this point in his presidency.
THE CLAIM:
THE TRUTH:
Democrats will never agree to a border wall. Protecting Dreamers, meanwhile, has bipartisan support. Many Republicans know the mass deportation of millions of kids to countries they don’t remember is not only immoral, but political suicide. Most likely, Republicans will secure funds for additional security along the border, including the repair of some of the existing fencing, but a full-scale, multi-billion dollar border wall isn’t going to happen.
