Day 335: Poll: Americans Reject Trump
1 min readDec 20, 2017
With the year wrapping up, NBC and the Wall Street Journal teamed up to poll the nation about a number of issues. The results were ugly for Donald Trump and the Republicans.
Some findings:
- Despite all the screaming about how much he has done for the economy, Americans don’t believe Trump: for the first time in nearly a decade, more people believe that Democrats handle the economy better.
- Only about a third of the country says they would vote to re-elect Trump and only 30 percent say the country is better off since Inauguration Day.
- The GOP’s tax plan? Less than a quarter of the country think it’s a good idea.
- Just 17 percent think Trump has united the country and only 9 percent found Trump making in-roads on partisan politics.
- By a 2:1 margin, Americans believe Trump has harmed the nation’s standing in the world.
Overall, the results are clear: Americans have rejected Trump’s first year. All of Trump’s bluster hasn’t convinced Americans that he’s done much good for them or the country as a whole.
