Day 327: One Simple Question to Trump’s ‘No Collusion’ Claims

Donald Trump has cried over and over that there was no collusion between his team and Russians. Take, for instance, his tweet this morning.

The simple question in response: Then why does everyone keep lying?

Paul Manafort, Rick Gates, George Papadopoulos and Michael Flynn have all been charged with lying to the FBI, and the last two have already pleaded guilty and are now cooperating in Robert Mueller’s probe involving Russian interference in the 2016 election.

Donald Jr. lied multiple times about a meeting with Russians at Trump Tower in June 2016, and on at least one occasion he acted as a conduit between his father’s team and the Russian-backed WikiLeaks.

Jeff Sessions lied to Congress both during oral testimony and on written disclosures when he said he never met with Russia during the campaign.

Jared Kushner lied when he omitted over 100 names on his security clearance form, having to amend his disclosures on numerous occasions. Kushner also quietly tried to set up back-channel communications with the Russians using Russian facilities and secure communication outside the ears of the U.S. government.

Top advisers, campaign managers, children: they’re all lying and scheming about the same thing.

Why?

If there’s nothing to hide, why has there been a consistent pattern of lying about one very specific Eastern Europe nation?
