Day 307: Trump Not Even Bothering to Hide Corruption

“Fredo” Trump, Jr. is hosting a $200 per plate fundraiser for dad’s head of election fraud commission.

When he was elected, Donald Trump broke tradition and refused to divest from his businesses, instead letting sons Donald, Jr. (“Fredo”) and Eric (“Also Fredo”) run the show. With Republicans controlling both the House and Senate, Trump was unconcerned about any emoluments clause issues and he insisted that there would be no conflicts of interest and everything would run smoothly.

While Trump’s promise was practically impossible, the level of corruption has reached a shocking level in less than a year.

While Fredo was said to be completely apolitical in his role running the Trump Organization with Also Fredo, that clearly isn’t happening.

Here, Fredo is hosting a pricey political fundraiser for the man overseeing Trump’s sketchy election fraud commission that may twist data to show widespread voter fraud when none actually exists. (Trump himself has said he believed “millions” of people fraudulently voted in the 2016 election, despite the lack of a shred of evidence for that assertion.)

Kobach is more than happy to openly tout the connection.

Fredo is supposed to be staying out of politics. Instead, Fredo is hosting a fundraiser for the man doing Trump’s bidding on election fraud, and his likeness is being used to promote the event.

This is, literally, the textbook definition of corruption.
