Day 30: Donald Trump Inherited a Fortune in Life and Presidency

Donald Trump has tried selling that he received a small loan and nothing else from his father. More recently he’s tried selling that he received a mess from Barack Obama.

Nope and nope.

First, Trump inherited a ton of money and a thriving business from his father. That much we know.

Second, let’s compare what Obama inherited and what Trump inherited:

Things look pretty good: median income, the stock market, corporate profits, median home prices, GDP growth are all up from eight years ago. Bigly.

Poverty rates, unemployment, uninsured individuals, violent crime rate, American troops stationed in combat areas overseas are all down from eight years ago. Bigly.

Yes, the federal deficit is up (though Obama greatly improved in the amount of yearly deficit into his second term as the economy stabilized), but Trump has shown no indication of doing anything but making that worse, anyway.

Where’s the mess?

We should all be so fortunate to inherit what Donald Trump does.
