Day 283: Hours Before Mueller’s First Round of Indictments, Trump Begs Republicans to Help Shift Narrative

Donald Trump took to Twitter to blast everything from the Russia investigation, to the initially-funded-by-a-conservative-website Steele dossier, to the Affordable Care Act, to the lack of movement on tax cuts. Perhaps nothing looked more desperate than when he claimed Republicans…

He’s literally begging for someone to do something to save — wait for it — himself.

Tomorrow, when some of special counsel Robert Mueller’s indictments will be made public, most people believe that Trump’s former campaign manager, Paul Manafort, and Trump’s former National Security Advisor, Michael Flynn, will be part of the group facing criminal charges.

Operative word in both titles: Trump.

In just hours, Trump loses any and all ability to proclaim that he and his team were not involved with any sort of Russia collusion.

Poof. Gone.

All the protesting and screaming and whining on Twitter becomes even sillier than it already is. Approval numbers, continuing to plummet, will likely get worse. Political allies, if smart, will distance themselves.

After all, Mueller’s reputation is top-notch.

Just ask Republicans.
