Day 269: Trump is — somehow — ramping up his golf habits
Donald Trump loves to play golf. This is not exactly breaking news. As often as the White House denies that he plays, videos continue to pop-up weekly of him hacking away at 11th fairway or driving across the 17th green.
Typically, this wouldn’t be an issue, but for two facts:
- Trump excoriated Barack Obama for his golf rounds.
- The U.S. is in a really, really bad spot right now.
Now, let’s play a quick game. Before scrolling down, how many times in 269 days in office would you guess Trump has been at his golf club?

Trump has spent 73 days at a golf club — a whopping 27.1% of his days in office — and 93 days at one of his properties — 34.5% of his days in office. More than one out of three days, Trump can be found at a property marked Trump, where Secret Service and his staff are paying to the Trump Organization or its partners cash for things like room and board, food, room rentals and golf cart rentals.
As we broke down nearly 200 days ago, the fees that the Trump Organization or its partners or Trump directly can collect from these jaunts is outrageously steep.
He’s getting even more aggressive with the frequency of his trips too.
There’s a humanitarian crisis in Puerto Rico, California is burning, Trump is playing golf.
