Day 246: Jimmy Kimmel 3, GOP 0
Late-night host destroys GOP health care bill for third straight night.
On Tuesday night, late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel eviscerated the GOP’s alleged “repeal and replace” Obamacare bill.
1–0, Kimmel.
On Wednesday night’s show, he doubled down, rebuking attacks made directly against him.
2–0, Kimmel.
Last night, Kimmel did it again.
Boom. Game, set, match. 3–0, Kimmel.
He’s pushing back, repeatedly, at the narrative that he’s not qualified to talk about health care. (Reminder: Kimmel was thrust into this only when one of the drafters of the bill, Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-LA), came onto Kimmel’s show and advocated for a “Jimmy Kimmel Test” that all health care bills should be forced to pass only to months later draft a bill that violates every rule in that test.)
He retweeted this video underscoring Fox News’ hypocrisy.
And here’s the thing: by all non-partisan accounts, at the end of the day, Kimmel has been more right and genuine than the drafters of the heinous bill.
This bill is massively unpopular…
…and the people that are pushing it are openly admitting that it’s terrible.
And, yet, here we are. Shame on the GOP. Shame on Donald Trump. Shame on people trying to rip health care from millions of Americans to line the pockets of a couple dozen.
