Day -24: Donald Trump: I’m Santa Claus

President-elect Donald Trump took to Twitter, obviously, to take credit for the gifts under your Christmas tree.

Your welcome, America.

You must have seen Santa Trump riding his sleigh and delivered gifts throughout the night. There’s Perry and Puzder and Pruitt and Pence. Carsons and Sessions and Mnuchin and Tillerson. But do you recall, the most famous of all? It’s Putin, obviously.

Trump is actually implying that if anyone but him was president-elect, Christmas spending would be way down. He’s comparing Christmas spending to recent upturns in the stock market.

The stock market is indicative of companies and their investors doing well, not necessarily the average American. American spending has nothing to do with a short-term rise in the stock market. More likely, the opposite is true: increased spending has caused stocks to rise. We’ll know more when quarterly reports are released, though.

As usual, Trump is trying to take credit for something he had virtually nothing to do with.

Ho! Ho! Ho!
