Day -23: Trump Tries to Sit on Obama’s Shoulders to Call Himself Tall
The jester Donald Trump continues to march down the unhinged road, tweeting:
The Consumer Confidence Index measures the optimism in the state of the economy by consumers. Its metric is based on savings and spending by Americans.
As the chart above indicates, both consumer confidence and consumer expectations have risen sharply since the beginning of 2009.
Something happened at the beginning of 2009, but what was it?
Oh, that.
There’s a great riff in The Social Network where, while being deposed, Mark Zuckerberg snidely tells the attorney questioning him:
“I think if your clients want to sit on my shoulders and call themselves tall, they have the right to give it a try — but there’s no requirement that I enjoy sitting here listening to people lie.”
Trump is attempting to do the same to Obama. Take eight years of Obama’s hard work and economic stimulus, mix in bashing both of those things along the way, then praise yourself before taking office and voila: Trump is tall.
This is obviously delusional.
What’s next for Trump’s tweets?
- “We just put man on the moon! Thanks Donald!”
- “The United States is no longer at war with Germany and Russia! Thanks Donald!”
- “The practice of slavery in the South has been abolished! Thanks Donald!”
- “We just declared independence from England! Thanks Donald!”
At least Donald Trump remembered to thank someone, finally, in one of his tweets. Unfortunately, the narcissist only thanked himself.
Everyone with a brain who isn’t completely partisan knows how that tweet should have ended.
“Thanks, Obama.”
