Day 176: The Final Trumpcare Push is Here
Moderate Senate Republicans are slowly caving to the demands of McConnell.
Yes, the Donald Trump Jr. collusion scandal is the story that keeps on giving…
…but the current healthcare debate is one that is far more pressing for the everyday American.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) is closer than ever to jamming the Better Care Reconciliation Act — Trumpcare — through the Senate. Right now, Sens. Rand Paul (R-KY) and Susan Collins (R-ME) seem to be the only definite nos (and for very different reasons: Paul thinks the bill doesn’t go far enough, Collins believes it goes too far) on the bill.
McConnell, in typical fashion, is breaking all sorts of norms to get the thing passed.
Meanwhile, Republican governors are expressing outrage over a bill that will harm their constituents, while their senators straddle the fence on whether they support the bill.
Purple state senators continue to waffle as McConnell makes in-roads in getting them on board.
If this heinous tax cut of a bill for the wealthy disguised as a health care bill for all outrages you, call your senator right now. Repealing and replacing Obamacare is in the final stages.
