Day 164: Donald Trump is a Tiny, Petulant Child
The media needs to take a united stand against a man tearing down norms and embarrassing the nation.
It’s July 2, 2017 and we have reached all-time pettiness from the toddler in the White House.
Of course CNN responded:
It’s up to everyone in the media — yes, even you Fox News — to hold a president accountable. Turn on the cameras at press briefings. Ask the hard questions. Demand transparency. Question his mental stability. Pressure congressional Republicans to defend or rebut Donald Trump’s statements on camera. It’s never been more obvious that Trump and his administration do not care at all about norms or the press. Stop pretending like things are going to change if you play by their rules.
The First Amendment is there for a reason. Aggressively wield it to cover — and call out — a man who certainly appears to be having numerous mental breakdowns every week. File a lawsuit for libel or slander, as these tweets have nothing to do with Trump’s job and therefore he has no civil immunity for them.
This pattern is not new. On weekends, he golfs and tweets garbage. His actions and delusions will keep happening and sully the office of the presidency every day. Most of his minions will eat it up. They laugh, but so does the world. In a very different way.
