Day 1,446: Trump’s final rally in office features plenty of lies and boredom but few masks
Donald Trump traveled to Dalton, Georgia on Monday, ostensibly to stump for the two Republican senators up for reelection in a Tuesday runoff.
Even with the huge consequences — if the GOP manages to even win one seat against their Democratic opponents, they’ll retain control of the Senate for at least two years — Trump unsurprisingly made the rally about himself.
He spent an inordinate amount of time whining about losing the 2020 election and baselessly vowing that he would be revealed to be the winner.
For large chunks of time, Trump seemed to bore his audience, in what is likely his final rally in office.
Despite COVID-19 surging and 10,000 lives lost in Georgia as a result of the pandemic, there were few masks visible among the throngs of people.
Trump’s final appearance at his bizarre and egotistical rallies was a dud, dangerous and full of deception.
