Day 1,443: New year, same liar: Trump rings in 2021 yelling the same baseless election garbage as in 2020

From Election Day through the end of 2020, Donald Trump continued to assert that a) he won the election, b) there was evidence of massive voter fraud, c) states violated their own election rules, d) courts would vindicate his cries of foul, and e) he would remain president on inauguration day.

False. False. False. False. False.

And as the calendar rolled over from 2020 to 2021, unsurprisingly, nothing has changed. Trump smashed the tweet and retweet button over a dozen times Friday. He continued to tout baseless voter fraud claims and promote a futile and dangerous January 6 rally in Washington as the states’ votes are officially certified by Congress.

Trump isn’t long for office, but he’s going to do everything to make the next 19 days as painful for everyone as possible.
