Day 1,358: Trump too sick or scared to debate Biden next week

After trying to paint Joe Biden as senile for months, Donald Trump is singing a very different tune after their first debate, where Trump was the one coming off as incoherent.

Now, less than 10 days later, a lot has changed. Trump was diagnosed with COVID-19 and may have been a super-spreader, giving the virus to many people in his orbit recklessly disregarding others’ safety.

As a result of Trump’s illness and his high possibility of contagiousness, the Commission on Presidential Debates opted for a virtual debate instead of an in-person one.

Trump refused the accommodation, leaving only two possible conclusions as to why: he’s too scared or he’s too sick to participate. (Ironically, it was Trump and his allies who for months said Biden wouldn’t debate.)

During the first debate, viewers overwhelmingly thought Biden won, so the former is a possibility.

But there’s also the strong possibility that Trump is too ill to attend or prepare. Trump has had no public appearances since returning to the White House, opting for pre-recorded videos instead that may have been filmed in front of a green screen.

When he calls into Fox News to rant about this or that, he doesn’t sound healthy.

On top of that, the White House has been coy about Trump’s treatment, symptoms and even when his last negative COVID-19 test was.

As for how he got COVID-19, Trump did the same thing he did when top aide Hope Hicks tested positive: he blamed military families.

Trump is a scared, sick man, sitting in the White House, blaming everyone for every bad thing that has happened in the past four years, four months, four weeks and four days.
