Day 1,333: Trump makes up another honor: the ‘Bay of Pigs Award’

Attempting to appeal to Latino voters, Donald Trump continued his long history of inventing awards and pandering.

During Sunday remarks, Trump bragged that he had been given the “Bay of Pigs Award,” which definitely doesn’t exist. (Trump doubled-down on receiving an award on Twitter.)

The “Bay of Pigs Award” would be an incredibly strange name for an award considering the failed Bay of Pigs invasion involved Cuban exiles landing back on the island to overthrow Fidel Castro’s communist government.

What Trump did get was a single endorsement from a veterans group during the last election cycle.

Trump indeed has a very long history of making up awards (and magazine covers).

Arguing that “Trump is never wrong,” his campaign tweeted a photo of him holding up a painting as proof of the “award”.

Also Sunday, apparently also in an attempt to appeal to Latino voters, Trump imitated what he thinks is a generic Hispanic accent.

Trump is a historic panderer and nothing has changed.
