Day 1,310: Trump thinks people needed IDs to attend the virtual DNC

The Democratic National Convention was virtual this week, wrapping up with Joe Biden’s speech formally accepting the party’s presidential nomination on Thursday night.

The Republication National Convention is being held virtually next week, and presumably Donald Trump is very aware that thousands of people won’t be gathering in-person.

And yet Thursday he tried to tie voter-identification requirements to identification procedures at the DNC.

Trump is either a) unaware that the DNC was held virtually, with no attendees (though he live-tweeted many speeches, including those of Biden, Kamala Harris and Barack Obama) or b) thinks people need “an ID card with a picture” to watch the convention from their TV or computer.

One of Trump’s most frequent talking points as to why people should vote for him instead of Biden relates to mental acuity.
