Day 1,255: Seeing rain in the forecast, Trump canceled golf in NJ for ‘law & order’ enforcement; he played golf in VA instead
Late Friday, Donald Trump scraped a trip to his private Bedminster, New Jersey golf club for a two-day taxpayer-funded vacation. He nonsensically claimed that the reason was toe “make sure LAW & ORDER is enforced” in Washington D.C.
In reality, buckets of rain were in the forecast in New Jersey, which was very likely to negate Trump’s golf plans.
So he stayed in the White House, where the weather was expected to be better. The weather, in fact, was better, and Trump played at his private golf club in Virginia.
Trump has been to one of golf properties on more than 21% of his days in office. He’s visited a Trump property of any kind on nearly 29% of his days in office.
Among other serious issues, more than 125,000 people have died of COVID-19 in the U.S. and the Russians have bounties on the heads of American servicemen and servicewomen in Afghanistan. Trump, meanwhile, in content to stoke racial tensions, defend confederate monuments and statues, and chase a golf ball around.
