Day 1,200: Trump: Press’s questions show I am treated worse than Lincoln
Fox News hosted a virtual town hall with Donald Trump in the Lincoln Memorial on Sunday evening. Trump lied, continued to move the goal posts on coronavirus death numbers, and generally complained.
His most pathetic moment was likely when he was lamented how the press has the audacity to ask him difficult questions.
Pointing to the 16th president’s statue, Trump said, “They always said, Lincoln, nobody got treated worse than Lincoln. I believe I am treated worse.”
As a reminder, Trump is upset about occasionally being asked questions in an air conditioned room by reporters seeking to file stories.
Abraham Lincoln was detested by the half the country who wanted to continue human bondage, was routinely shredded by Southern newspapers, had his life threatened on a daily basis, and was eventually assassinated by John Wilkes Booth, a Confederate sympathizer.
Lincoln was killed with a six-inch gun, but Trump being asked questions by reporters holding a twelve-inch microphone makes him moan about unfairness.
