Day 1,169: Trump: ‘It’s not like we have a massive recession or worse’
The level of Donald Trump’s delusion and his ability to shovel bullshit down the throats of his loyalists is truly exceptional.
Thursday, Trump claimed that the situation regarding the coronavirus in the U.S. isn’t really that bad. “It’s not like we have massive recession or worse,” Trump professed.
FACT: Trump is touting 100,000–240,000 dead Americans as a new “goal” despite claiming five weeks ago that the number of infected Americans would soon be “close to zero.”
FACT: Nearly 10 million Americans workers have filed unemployment claims in the past two weeks.
FACT: Year-to-date, the Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 26% and the S&P 500 is down 22%.
FACT: Virtually all reputable economists see a deep, worldwide recession.
FICTION: “It’s not like we have a massive recession or worse.” — Donald J. Trump
