Donald Trump’s delayed and dangerous policies and rhetoric relating to the coronavirus epidemic have undoubtedly put more Americans’ lives at risk.

His ignorance has only exacerbated an ever-growing problem.

Over the past few weeks, Trump has claimed the following things could stop the coronavirus from spreading:

On Tuesday, Trump added to the list with a southern border wall.

It’s worth noting that Mexico has seven confirmed coronavirus cases. Seven. As in 17 less than the current death toll in Washington State.

Of course, Trump’s commentary reveals more about his continued vanity project obsession than it does keeping Americans safe from coronavirus. People have been flying into the U.S. from Italy, the country with the second most cases, and aren’t asked a single question or screened in any capacity.

The director of the CDC lavished Trump with sycophantic praise just days ago.

And even he pushed back on Trump’s ‘the wall will stop coronavirus’ rhetoric.

Appearing before House lawmakers to testify about the public health crisis and the White House’s budget request for his agency, Redfield was asked by Rep. Katherine Clark (D-Mass.) whether the CDC’s recommendations for combating the coronavirus addressed whether “structural barriers” at the borders “would be of any use in mitigating” the growing outbreak.

“Not that I’ve seen,” Redfield replied.

Should the coronavirus spread more, hospitals will quickly be out of beds, medical professionals will be overworked and many businesses will be on the brink of disaster. And all Trump can think about is spending billions of taxpayer dollars on a wall that he promised Mexico would pay for.
