Day 1,095: Continuous grift: Trump’s golf habit is among few consistencies
Donald Trump flip-flops more than a fish just reeled onto a boat. From Iran policy to vaping decisions, Trump can’t decide what he wants to do and to what the electorate will respond favorably.
One of his few static goings-on: golf.
He can’t stop playing and cares not about how much it costs the taxpayer or what else is going on in the world. While Barack Obama released details of his rounds, Trump’s team intentionally obscures them. However, they can’t hide Trump’s public schedule, which usually reveals him on the golf course for four to five hours twice per week.
And that included this weekend, where Trump played twice at his private South Florida club.
With 245 days at Trump-owned golf properties and 329 days at any Trump-owned property, Trump’s grifting has been steady. Out of every 10 days, Trump is spending an average of three at his properties, surrounded by aides and Secret Service paying for rooms, golf cart rentals, food, drink and other ancillary costs.
All of that is getting billed back to the taxpayer. And ending up in Trump’s pocket.
It’s not at all a coincidence that one of Trump’s few steady routines involves not working and putting ill-gotten cash in his pocket.
