Day 1,091: Giuliani associate: Trump knew exactly what was going on with illicit Trump-Ukraine scheme

Donald Trump has been impeached for, generally speaking, attempting to extort Ukraine to gin up an investigate into Joe Biden and his family in exchange for military aid.

Trump — and Republicans as a whole — have claimed that nothing illegal has happened and there’s no proof that Trump even knew about the goings-on that tied up the aid.

But even as the White House blocked witness after witness from testifying, the damning truth has trickled out over the past several months. On Wednesday, Lev Parnas, an indicted associate of Trump’s lawyer Rudy Giuliani, spoke out on MSNBC about what Trump knew and what the goal was in the Ukraine scandal, and said, “It was all about Joe Biden, Hunter Biden…It was never about corruption.”

He directly implicated Trump in the scheme.

He directly implicated Mike Pence and other senior officials in the scheme.

He fingered key witnesses who knew about and/or participated in the scheme.

And he noted the audacity of Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA), who acted as a mouthpiece for Trump on the the Ukraine scandal, even as Nunes was aware of the scheme too.

Trump and his family are connected to Parnas through a treasure trove of evidence, including Giuliani, photos together, and attending many of the same events. Parnas’ direct implication of Trump and the rest of the senior administration in a scheme to damage American democracy by leveraging a foreign nation to investigate a political rival is among the biggest scandals in U.S. history. The evidence is beyond overwhelming, even with the White House blocking access to many key witnesses who have even more direct knowledge of the issues.
