Day 1,072: Trump retweeted all of the crazies on Friday

Donald Trump’s Twitter habit is something that people have largely learned to take for granted for years. For the most part, his missives are given a shoulder shrug by the media as just “Trump being Trump” and ignored, even as they have moved farther and farther to the extreme in content and frequency.

The man who has the nuclear codes continues to retweet and endorse the far right fringes of the internet. Friday that was taken to the nth degree, as he mashed the retweet button over and over again on what appeared to be every crazy person in existence.

• Whatever this is:

• White guys talking about the “Black Community” with fake Denzel Washington quotes that were debunked years ago.

• Absurd and pandering religious tweets from two years ago:

There were dozens more, just as inane. For instance, regarding Trump’s impeachment and the whistleblower that started the probe, Trump retweeted the alleged whistleblower’s name to his 68 million followers, putting the individual in even more danger than they already are.

If someone’s uncle tweeted anything close to a barrage like this, their family would likely want to schedule some sort of mental health check. When it’s Trump, the media, nation and world have just sort of agreed to ignore it, despite the very real national security interests in play.
